Bunge to control of Ceval Alimentos
HERING of Brazil is to sell control of Ceval Alimentos to Bunge
International. Ceval, a soya and meat processor, is likely to merge with
Alimentos Santisa, Bunges Brazilian soya-processing subsidiary. The move would
create Brazils biggest food group.
The deal is dependent on final agreement, and Hering shareholder agreement on
August 29. Bunge Internationals turnover is about $11 billion (£6.8bn). This is mostly from activities in food and agriculture in the Americas, Australia and Asia.
