C-Trac moves to Thirsk

LUCASSEN Young has sold the design and manufacturing rights for the Clayton C-Trac range to Multidrive based at Thirsk, North Yorks.

Existing six-cylinder 6000 series machines launched last summer and a new four-cylinder model due to be launched next year, will now be produced at Multidrives plant.

Heading up Multidrive is David Brown, whose firm is involved in producing big four-wheel drive trucks. The past has seen an involvement in developing a range of articulated dump trucks and telescopic handlers, both of which now carry the Caterpillar name.

The future for the Deere-powered Clayton in the Multidrive camp could now be assured and it seems likely that the machine will see further development to extend its use into the construction industry. &#42
