Carla Lane is keeping dumped calves

COMEDY scriptwriter Carla Lane has been unable to write a new series for television because she is caring for 44 bullocks dumped on her doorstep.

Ms Lane, who wrote Bread, has been prevented from working on a
new series for the BBC because she says she has no time.

Farmers left the bullocks at the animal rights campaigners farm in West Sussex in August in protest at Ms Lanes campaign against the export of cattle abroad.
