Caterpillar gets go-ahead for Varity Perkins takeover

CATERPILLARS £803 million takeover of engine and agricultural machinery manufacturer Varity Perkins
jumped its last regulatory hurdle when European monopoly watchdogs gave it
permission to proceed.

The deal is expected to be completed in a few weeks.
