Charles to champion rural poor

PRINCE Charles is launching a campaign today (Tuesday) to highlight the plight of the rural poor.

The Prince of Wales will say that business leaders and politicians should do more to help farmers to diversify and develop stronger community ties.

The Prince is anxious to encourage schemes that would enable people in rural areas to reclaim unused land for projects that would benefit the local area.

He is due to present his ideas at the twelfth annual Community Enterprise Awards ceremony.
