Charolais bull tops 2050gns
A BULL from Peter Dongers Charolais herd at Towcester, Northants, made the top price of 2050gns at the breed societys spring fixture at Banbury.
Seawell Mighty, a Brampton Fourstar son bred out of an MMB Occidental cow, stood third in his class under judge Mrs Rachel Wyllie of the locally-based Brailles herd.
He was bought by Miss A Bowditch, Dorchester-on-Thames, who also took Weybread Monty, an April 1996-bred son of Lamberhurst Volunteer from R and D L Harper, Diss, Norfolk, at 1150gns.
Another Fourstar son from the Seawell herd made 1500gns to J * Norman and Sons, Bicester.
The supreme champion, Balbithan Maddison, made 1100gns. Sired by Brigadoon Invader, he was consigned by Mr and Mrs A White, Ware-ham, Dorset, and bought by J Morgan, Newport Pagnell, Bucks.
