CJD figures out
OVERALL incidence of CJD in the UK is no greater than in other countries, including those which are free of BSE, according to the latest annual report of the National CJD Surveillance Unit.
Although it records an increase in the number of cases of classic sporadic CJD recorded in England and Wales between 1970 and April 1997, similar increases are reported in other countries, in Europe and elsewhere in the world, with little or no BSE.
