Cold boost for pgr

GROWTH regulator chlormequats performance in cold weather can be enhanced by adding Arma adjuvant, Interagro reminds wheat growers.

Chlormequat needs a temperature of at least 8C (46F) to be fully effective, but the average UK March figure is 5.3C (41.5F), it notes. Dutch work for the firm in 1996 at 4C (39F) showed that adding Arma boosted uptake four-fold and outperformed Li700 adjuvant by 22.8%.

Typical cost is £5/ha (£2/acre).

Recommended dose is 0.1% of total spray volume. For a 200-litre/ha application that costs £5/ha (£2/acre).
