Colorado beetles found in Essex

Scores of Colorado beetles that could be dangerous to crops were found on board a Greek-registered lorry at the port of Harwich, Essex, in a cargo of fresh produce. Farmers were warned to be on the alert.

The beetles are thumbnail-size and have distinctive black and white stripes.
