Common grazings free of restrictions
SHEEP, goats and cattle in England and Wales can be moved to common grazings, such as open hills and moors, in any part of the country under a new licensing scheme.
But the normal movement rules apply which stop movement through infected areas or from high risk to low risk areas. Travelling to or from Form A, D and C premises will not be authorised, says MAFF.
Negative serological samples and/or clear clinical inspection may be needed before some animal can be moved. Licence applications must be made to the local authority or Assembly divisional office where the common grazing lies. *
