Contrasting Cornish units are on offer

TWO very different units now are for sale in the West Country one privately and the other by auction next month.

On the Roseland Peninsula, Cornwall, a 211-acre dairy and arable unit with a four-bedroom farmhouse is likely to appeal to both the residential and farmer buyers, according to David Hebditch, Humberts.

He has lotted the unit with the house, farm buildings including dairying and grain handling facilities and 171 acres of grade 3 arable and pasture guided at £775,000.

The remaining 40 acres of arable and pasture, which is all eligible for arable area aid, is valued at just over £2000/acre. About 362,619 litres of milk quota are available by separate negotiation.

Also for sale in two lots Brendon Barton, Lynton, Devon, is a 315-acre hill farm on Exmoor. A five-bedroom house which is in need of extensive renovation, a cottage, ranges of modern and traditional farm buildings and 271 acres of pasture are lotted separately from 44 acres of pasture and woodland. The whole is guided at £550,000.
