EIGHT different torque settings and two speeds are said to make Spaldings latest cordless drill also suitable for use as a cordless screwdriver.

Called the Ryobi Cordless Drill Driver, the 12V machine features a keyless chuck design for easy drill bit changes and a soft grip handle for comfortable use.

By twisting a collar on the unit, torque settings can be adjusted to prevent over-tightening and rounding of screw heads, says Spaldings.

Supplied with two batteries and a one-hour charger, the Ryobi drill driver costs £135 (01522-500600).
