Countryside Alliance in cash crisis
by FWi staff
THE Countryside Alliance faces a financial crisis after running up 750,000 in legal bills, according to a report in The Times.
The law firm Allen & Overy made the charge for preparing the alliances submission to the Governments hunting inquiry, says the paper.
The organisation has doubled its membership fees and hunts have been asked to donate 20% of their reserves or to double their hunt levy for one year, it adds.
Alliance officials are trying to raise 6 million pay for their campaign against a ban on hunting. They are also campaigning for pro-rural government policies.
