Court sits all day on GM protestors
LINCOLN magistrates considering the case against alleged 46 protestors against genetically modified (GM) food sat all day yesterday (Monday).
The protestors were arrested and charged after a field of maize was destroyed on a farm testing GM crops at the weekend.
The 25 men and 21 women, aged 16-61, from across Britain, are accused of conspiracy to commit criminal damage at a field near Gainsborough, Lincolnshire.
The debate on GM food is continued in the letters pages of the Financial Times and The Independent.
