Police hunt youths after 300 straw bales torched

Police are hunting a group of youths after 300 straw bales were torched on a farm in Perthshire.
The blaze broke out in a barn at Mains of Kilgraston Farm, near Bridge of Earn, in the early hours of Saturday (5 September).
Firefighters managed to contain the fire within the building and extinguish the flames. No one was injured, but it caused £10,000 worth of damage.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “We are appealing for information following a fire within a barn at a Mains of Kilgraston Farm near Bridge of Earn, Perthshire, at around 3.40am on Saturday, 5 September.
“More than 300 straw bales valued at about £10,000 were destroyed in the incident.
“Police are keen to trace and identify a group of 10-12 youths who were seen in a field nearby at around 8pm on Friday evening.”
Anyone who knows these individuals or who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the area at the time is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
