Rustlers steal pedigree sheep worth £30,000

Sheep rustlers have stolen more than £30,000 worth of in-lamb pedigree ewes from a farm in Lancashire.
Farmer Dan Towers said 58 Beltex ewes were taken from a lambing shed on Scale House Farm, Wray, on Friday night (7 February).
Mr Towers, 22, only recently took over the tenancy of the 120-acre site to farm sheep and cattle and has taken to Facebook to find the sheep.
An appeal launched on the social media site has seen a huge response with Mr Towers saying he was “totally overwhelmed by the amount of support and phone calls”.
He told local newspaper the Lancaster Guardian that the sheep had a red “K” on their backs and red marks on their heads.
They also had ear tags with “BE” and “UK” markings, as some originally came from Belgium.
Police believe the offenders carried out a “reconnaissance” trip beforehand and would have had access to a livestock transporter.
Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Andy Massingham at Lancashire Police on 101.
