CSS deadline soon

ENGLISH Nature and the NFU are reminding farmers the deadline for applications to the Countryside Stewardship Scheme is May 31.

This year there is £16 million available for the scheme which targets the conservation and improvement of some key English wildlife and landscapes. But with the deadline approaching there is some concern that if the money is not all spent them it could be lost next year. MAFF has also announced that Feb 27 and Apr 3 are the second check dates for the Extensification Payment Scheme.
