Cyanamid sale ahead od schedule
AMERICAN Home Products is expected to complete the sale of its agrochemicals division Cyanamid months ahead of schedule.
Analysts see this as an important step towards AHP finding a full merger partner, reports the Financial Times.
Bids for Cyanamid, which has a price tag of $3bn, are expected to be submitted within a few weeks, and a sale is predicted by the end of June.
German companies Bayer and BASF are reported to have tendered bids for Cyanamid and US groups DuPont and Dow Chemical are also said to be interested.
Novartis and Pharmacia & Upjohn, which is merging with Monsanto, are linked with acquiring AHP.
