Dairy success for young Scot
BALANCED breeding combined with low-input management is the recipe for one of Scotlands most successful young dairy farmers.
Willy Templeton is a recent winner of the first Ayrshire Young Ambassador award for stockmanship.
Mr Templeton of Syke Farm, near Mauchline, is responsible for the day-to-day management of his familys 186-acre all-grass dairy unit.
The farm supports a 200-strong pedigree Ayrshire herd including between 80 and 90 milking cows.
