Danish beet firm shake-up

FINANCIALLY troubled TIM – the Danish sugar beet manufacturer – has new owners. The company has now been purchased by a consortium formed by Thyregod, Cormall and Kongskilde and will now trade as TIM 2000.
Heading the new company will be Thyregods managing director, Peter Pederson who says that the acquisition will mean that the future service and supply of spare parts for TIM harvesters is secure.
While production will continue initially at TIMs plant, the company states there are plans to move production to Thyregod with the combined harvester line-up comprising 1-, 2- and 3-row trailed harvesters and 6-row self propelled machines. These will be sold under the names of Thyregod and TIM.
What these developments will mean for the TIMs UK operation is currently unclear. TIM (GB) is a totally owned subsidiary of the company.
