Drunken fox ravages GM trial

A FOX threatened to wreck a trial of genetically modified (GM) crops when it raided insect traps filled with alcohol and ate the beetles and bugs inside.

Researchers at the Institute of Arable Crops Research at Brooms Barn, Cambridge, are carrying out the experiments to show how GM crops can encourage wildlife.

The insect traps have now been altered to keep the fox out.
