Dry weather is needed

“The weather has been very difficult for us. It has been a very tricky year.

“What we need are a couple of days with good weather to really get going” he said.

Mr Hues has just harvested 40ha (100 acres) out of a total 120ha (300 acres) of his Siberia barley.

“I am happy with the quality- it‘s getting better as we move further into the field,” he said.

He is not exactly sure about the specific weight or the yield but he says both are looking ‘strong’ with the yield “definitely above 3t/acre.” (7.4t/ha)
