EC imposes cotton anti-dumping
duties on six Asian countries

THE European Commission imposed provisional anti-dumping duties on unbleached cotton imports from six Asian countries.

It is the second time in two years that such action has been taken in defiance of opposition from most European Union states.

The countries are China, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Pakistan and Turkey.

The Commission said the move was consistent with the findings of its investigations that the countries had been dumping.
