Educational site on line soon

FOOD and Farming, a new Welsh internet based education initiative, will be launched next week.

It aims to encourage discussion and understanding of issues surrounding sustainable food production, including its impact on landscape, the environment, wildlife and famine worldwide.

The web-site is being launched by the Food and Farming Partnership, which links 18 organisations, including the farming unions, research agencies, rural enterprise groups, environmentalists, the RSPB and Oxfam.

Those who log on to the site will read different viewpoints on topics such as genetically modified crops and the interdependence of local and global food producers.
