EU puts off farm budget decision
EUROPEAN UNION leaders have left it until March to reach agreement on radical reforms to the unions farm budget, following the weekends Vienna summit.
The summit failed to get agreement on the capping of current spending and postponed all other main decisions.
Jacques Chirac, the French president, rejected all talk of member states paying more for agriculture through a system of “co-financing”.
