Euro candidates back CAP reform
ALL political parties with candidates standing for the European elections are committed to reform of the common agricultural policy (CAP).
Labour, Conservative and Liberal Democrat party are fully behind cuts in the farm budget – though to varying degrees of depth, reports The Guardian.
The Scottish National Party is also backing CAP reform but with the rider that Scottish farmers are protected.
The Green Party views the CAP as “costly disaster” and wants production of safe food which does not harm environment or cause animal suffering.
