DEFRA denies foot-and-mouth confirmation

DEFRA is denying media reports that the suspect case of foot-and-mouth near Egham in Surrey has been confirmed.

The BBC claims that the case has been confirmed and a national movement ban is in place.

Farmers Weekly has been told by its sources that it is very likely that the case is positive.

But DEFRA officials has told Farmers Weekly that it is still awaiting test results and no official announcement has been made.
