Have you got a question for Defra minister Daniel Zeichner?

As the Labour government enters its second year in office, farmers continue to feel the impact of a raft of new policies, as well as significant tweaks to some old ones.

As well as the headline stuff about inheritance tax, environmental land management schemes, trading relationships and various disease threats, the government has also launched a number of new strategies, from the “land use strategy” to the new “food strategy” – not to mention its “farm profitability review” with Baroness Batters.

As usual, there are many unanswered questions, which we want to put to Defra farming minister Daniel Zeichner.

Mr Zeichner was appointed to his role soon after last year’s general election, having been Labour’s shadow farming minister for three years prior to that. He knows the brief well. So what would you ask him?

Please email your questions to philip.clarke@markallengroup.com and we will take a selection and put them to Mr Zeichner directly, publishing his responses in an upcoming issue of Farmers Weekly.
