Mary Creagh appointed shadow DEFRA secretary

Wakefield MP Mary Creagh has been appointed as the Labour Party’s shadow DEFRA secretary.

She will replace Hilary Benn who has moved to become shadow leader of the House of Commons.

Ms Creagh was elected in 2005 and has previously worked as a whip in the Department of Health.

She lives in central Wakefield and lists her interests as cycling, yoga, food, gardening and having fun with her family.
