Register when taking pigs to market

Pig keepers taking pigs to auction markets must register their producer details such as name and site details on the electronic pig movement system (eAML2) before they go, if they have not done so already.

Producers can register in three simple ways, via phone, fax or online, to ensure movements go through smoothly at the market.

Keepers also need to make sure the details registered for eAML2 match those on the market’s database, otherwise the movement will be unable to take place.

The eAML2 will become compulsory from 1 April 2012.

To register their details, keepers will need their County Parish Holding (CPH) number and herd mark. It will only take a few minutes.

Call the eAML2 bureau service on 0844 335 8400, fax to 02476 692 405 or visit their website and click on ‘Producer registration’.
