VIDEO: NZ grower’s view on life with subsidies

Farmers Weekly is attending the 18th International Farm Management Congress which is being held in Methven, New Zealand over 20-25 March 2011.
The theme for the week is how to thrive in a global world through innovation, co-operation and leadership.
New Zealand is a well-chosen venue for such a theme, having coped without subsidies since 1984, leaving its farmers to the mercy of the global markets.
Farmers Weekly’s deputy arable editor Mike Abram speaks to farmer David Ward about the lessons learned since the removal of subsidies.
