Farm software firms co-operate

TWO leading suppliers of crop recording, mapping and agronomist software to the farming industry are to co-operate on a technical and commercial level.

Under the deal Farmplan Computer Systems and Farmade Management Systems will remain independent, but claim their combined technical, marketing and support resources will provide unparalleled services to customers.

Farmade will produce a range of crop management, mapping and agronomist software branded exclusively for Farmplan, based upon their existing MultiCrop, Amais and Agronomist products.

The Farmplan branded products will be marketed under the names Crop Manager, Farmplan A-Map and Farmplan Agronomist respectively.

Farmade will continue to develop, market and support software under its own brands through existing distribution.

Farmplan will continue to develop and market its range of Produce Marketing and Crop Quality Assurance products, which will integrate with the new Crop Manager.

Crop Manager will also link to Farmplans financial and IACS software. Farmplan will continue to train and support all its customers on the new products.

“Together, Farmade and Farmplan aim to develop strategies to meet the ever increasing demands of the marketplace, as well as government legislation and the requirements of major corporations and food outlets” said Neil Unitt, managing director of Farmplan.

“Our two customer bases represent a significant proportion of UK growers,” added Farmade managing director Peter Henley.

“By addressing their combined needs we can provide a level of service, product and innovation to meet the challenges facing the industry now and in the future”.
