Farm time forgot is sold

A SOMERSET farm in need of substantial renovation exceeded its £550,000 guide price when it went under the hammer last month with Wilts outfit Woolley & Wallis.

Southmead Farm, Ilchester, near Yeovil, which featured a Grade 2 listed farmhouse, a range of traditional buildings with conversion potential and 167 acres of pasture made £720,000 to a local farming family.

Selling agent William Grant says the property, which was left to nine charities by owner Augustine Eades who died two years ago, was the "farm time forgot". "It hadnt been touched sice the 1920s when it was last bought at auction." &#42
