Farmers give Islay Dunlop the kiss of life
ISLAY DUNLOP cheese is back on the menu after receiving the kiss of life from local dairy farmers.
The Islay Creamery Company closed down two years ago. But the islands 12 dairy farmers re-opened the old creamery with modern machinery thanks to a £250,000 grant from the European Commission and assistance from the Argyll and Islands Enterprise.
Production restarted in the autumn and now the cheese is back on the market.
