Farmers to get cash to go organic

FARMERS will be given extra cash to convert to organic methods of farming.

Nick Brown, the new agriculture minister, said farmers would qualify for a total of £450 in Government aid over five years for every hectare (2.5 acres) converted, compared with the present grant of £250. The 300ha (741 acre) limit on assistance will also be abolished.
