FARM computer specialist Hylton Nomis Computer Services has been acquired by Farmplan Computer systems, owned by Reed Business Information, publisher of FARMERS WEEKLY, Crops, Poultry World and Farmers Weekly Interactive.
Hylton Nomis provides premium accounting software to large rural estates and rural businesses, land agency companies and other farming professionals.
"The acquisition reflects RBIs continuing commitment to strengthening the information technology services it supplies to large- and small-scale farm businesses," said Neil Unitt, Farmplan managing director.
"We are particularly exited by the potential to build upon the unique computer solutions pioneered by Hylton Nomis," he added.
Hylton Nomis supplies about 1000 farming clients with a farm size of more than 400ha (1000 acres), plus key corporate clients including FPDSavills, Strutt & Parker, Bidwells and Sandringham Estates.
The acquisition will not only strengthen Farmplans range of products it will ensure continued support for HNL customers and the ability for them to move across to a Windows platform, explained Mr Unitt.
