Few bidders at Clydesdale sale
THE Herald reports a disappointing level of interest at the Clydesdale Horse Society of Great Britain & Irelands annual sale at Lanark mart over the weekend.
Top price paid was 1050 guineas for a two-year-old colt, with the second highest priced lot securing just 750 guineas.
The paper reports there was standing room only at the auction ring but “few showed any inclination to put their hands in their pockets”.
Only eight of the 21 animals put forward found buyers.
