Few opportunities for rural young

YOUNG people who find work in rural areas are generally paid less, receive less training and have fewer career opportunities than counterparts in towns and cities, according to two reports published this week.

The Daily Telegraph reports that this is the reality behind Tony Blairs claims that rural inhabitants are less likely to be unemployed.

Glasgow University carried out research in four types of rural communities in Scotland, while an Edinburgh University team looked at transport and housing problems.
