Find fresh stock the easy PC way

FARMS looking to restock with beef breeding cattle and breeding sheep can buy their replacements over the net, thanks to a new offering of stock on ANM Groups auction trading site.

ANM Group, a pioneer of internet trading, is offering animals from leading herds and flocks in the north and north-east of Scotland.

Interested buyers can look at the stock on the web-site (www.goanm.co.uk) or the company will forward a CD rom that includes all the animals on offer and closing dates of sales. Those who want to view stock on farm can make arrangements to do so.

ANM general manager John Gregor says the sale should attract plenty of buyers, particularly farmers wanting to restock.

"The sale presents a great opportunity for buyers to source replacement herds of cattle and flocks of sheep by bidding from a computer from the comfort of their own home."

Among the offer is almost 1000 head of breeding sheep, including 500 in-lamb Mule ewes, 200 in-lamb Scotch Mule and Half Bred ewes and 197 gimmers, consisting of Mule, North Country Cheviots and Texel-cross Mule ewes.

For beef farmers, there is also a consignment of 78 Simmental cross cows. While those after heifers might be interested in the 100 in-calf Simmental cross, Limousin cross and Belgian Blue cross heifers on offer in four lots.

There are also nine pedigree in-calf Aberdeen Angus females up for grabs. &#42
