First choice Frisky calf hits 8000gns
A FIRST choice heifer calf sired by either Luke or Parker Aero Wade, and out of the Blackstar-sired Frisky, made 8000gns at Ford, Shropshire last week.
It was among the guest consignment from the Golden Calf Companys Indianhead herd of Holstein Friesians. This formed part of the sale of the milking portions of the Markris and High Society Holstein and Holstein Friesian herds for the Gethin family. The unborn Frisky calf was claimed by Robert Horton of the Hinton Holstein herd.
High Society Sally VG86, an Aerostar daughter that calved her third last month, made 4400gns. She gave 10.908kg with her second worth £2257.
Heading for the Bardra herd of J Barker and Sons was Indianhead Integrity Rose, an eight-week-old calf out of the 22,000gns Indianhead Golden Rose sold at the HFS Spring Selection sale this year.
Indianhead Linsey, a yearling Marksman heifer out of the 16,000kg Andrew Clair Val Lensy made 4100gns to Hidden Valley Holsteins. (Wright-Manley with Halls)n
