Foydra bulls
impress in NI
THE Foydra herd of Wilfred and Edwin Bothwell swept the board to achieve the two top prices at the new spring show and sale of the Northern Ireland Charolais Club.
They brought just two bulls from their farm in Co Fermanagh and it was the well-muscled Grove Enterprise son Foydra Nightmoves that finished on top with a call of 2550gns from Mr Hogg, Co Tyrone.
Hot on his heels and selling for 2450gns was Foydra Nigel, a third generation home-bred bull by Foydra Jacob. Buyer was Aidan Lynch, Co Tyrone
Drumroo Major, the single entry from D and J Armstrong, was a convincing class winner. Sired by Criffel Goldust and out of a Brampton Damiant cow, he made 2350gns to Colin Magennis, Newry, Co Down.
Fivemiletown, Co Tyrone, breeder Louis Bothwell, who runs the Cleffany herd, entered a son of his new stock bull Laheens Justin (by Excellent). Cleffany Newland took the championship and made 2150gns.
Also at the same price was Lisnalurg Noah, a Castleoma Cruise son from Harold Stubbs, Lisbellaw. (Automart) *
