FARMERS leader Ben Gill has been appointed to the Council of Food from Britain, the leading agency involved in the promotion of British food abroad.
Mr Gill, who is president of the National Farmers Union, will serve a three year term with two other new appointees who were announced this afternoon.
Gordon Summerfield, president of the Dairy Industry Federation, and Tom Vyner, who retired from the board of Sainsburys in January, were also appointed today.
Food from Britain works in partnership with food and drink companies to boost sales of British products overseas and develop speciality foods in the UK.
