Gill is unopposed for second term
By FW reporters
BEN Gill has been nominated unopposed for a second term as president of the National Farmers Union.
But there will be an election for the two deputy president positions, with five candidates proposed by union county branch executives.
In addition to current deputies Tony Pexton and Tim Bennett, others seeking election are Richard Haddock (Devon), Hugh Oliver-Bellasis (Hampshire), and Rad Thomas (Leicestershire).
David Quayle has also been nominated, unopposed, to continue as union treasurer.
The election for deputies will take place immediately after the NFU annual meeting in London on 3 February when the 94-strong union council will convene to vote.
