GM rivals gather in Boston


OPPONENTS and supporters of biotechnology converged on Boston, Massachusetts at the weekend for competing conferences on the issue.

At BioDevastation, a gathering of concerned Americans listened to political activist Ralph Nader warn against biotechnology, reports the Financial Times.

Across town, actor Christopher Reeve, investment guru Peter Lynch and Senator Ted Kennedy cheered participants in the conference sponsored by the Biotechnology Industrial Organisation trade group.
