Christmas is coming and the goose is getting… high in desirable mono-unsaturated and essential fatty acids perhaps? Yes, the British Goose Producers Association, armed with ADAS survey results showing goose fat levels to be far lower than oft-quoted, has branded the traditional ditty of the goose "getting fat" as outdated. Meanwhile the BGPA expects the number of birds available for Christmas to top 300,000 for the first time this year, with oven-ready prices likely to be between £6.30-7.90/kg (£2.90-3.60/lb).
