Government delays milk report again
THE government has delayed the Competition Commission report into the milk market for at least another month.
Trade and industry secretary Stephen Byers said the inquiry into Milk Marque would be released before parliament rises for the summer.
The date is understood to be after the European elections on 10 June and has left opposition spokesmen claiming that the reason for the delay is political.
Mr Byers said the delay was necessary to give “full and proper consideration” to a complex report with more than 200 separate submissions.
