Granules wont hit hedgerows
PLACING pesticides into hedge-rows is not economical or environmentally acceptable – a detail which is not lost on Horstine Farmery.
The company has now introduced a "hedgerow" nozzle for its TMA4 and TMA2 airflow granule applicators which replaces the outer nozzle on the boom. In operation, a deflector plate cuts the spread width in half and maintains the correct distribution of the granules.
Horstine points out that with only one screw positioning the deflector plate it is easy to swap from half and full width spreading. Price of the hedgerow nozzle kit is £43.75 as a retrofit, with the company planning to fit them as standard to new machines.
