TWO new drills have been added to the Lemken range by importer Tri-ag as a result of the equipment-makers acquisition of drill manufacturer Hassia 18 months ago.

Conventional in design with a full width seed box, the Euro drill is available in working widths of 2.5m to 4.5m and can be operated solo as a tractor-mounted machine or used in combination with a power harrow.

The DKA box drill is designed for rigidly mounting on to a power harrow or tined cultivator and is available in widths of 2.5m to 4.5m.

Both drills employ a stepless gearbox drive to the metering system, feature electronic tramlining and are offered with either Suffolk of disc coulters. The Euro drill costs £4321 and the DKA £4919.

Tri-ag now has Howard within its folds and has launched the Howard Nordsten NS4000 pneumatic seed drill which is designed for combination use with powerharrow or cultivator.

Metered seed is conveyed to an external distribution head before being passed to the coulters. The seed hopper, with its two metering outlets, has been designed to be mounted directly over the powerharrows headstock. Howard points out that this arrangement allows the seed hopper to be placed closer to the rear of the tractor and create a better weight distribution.

With working widths of 3m, 4m and 4.5m and features which include electronic tramlining and an ability to sow a large variety of seed types, the 4m NS4040 model complete with Suffolk coulters and harrow costs £10,733. &#42
