HATS OFF TO A STYLISH SET OF DESIGNERS
HATS OFF TO A STYLISH SET OF DESIGNERS
WELSH young farmers put on some sizzling displays for the audiences that crowded round the YFC catwalk at the Royal Welsh Show to watch the competitions staged there.
While the dancing contests kept up a hot pace, the Ascot hat contest was a diverse collection of cool and classy through to decidedly whacky chapeaux.
An incredibly stylish concoction from Glamorgan in black and gold topped by a peacock feather was made from black bin bags, while Radnor plumped for old tights and fuse wire as their preferred materials. Merioneth favoured fruit, Brecon sunflowers, complete with birds pecking the seeds. Other designs used feathers, field mice and even recycled Horse and Hound magazines for topping titfers that were a long way from tat.
