Heated pig panel is low on electric

SAVE money compared with overhead heating by using the MIK Thermo E electric heating panel for piglets, says importer Hanco National Pig Supplies.

The lightweight polypropylene panel has a mat heating element, resulting in an even temperature which extends right into the corners of the panel, says the company.

A sensor ensures the surface temperature remains constant irrespective of ambient temperature and piglet lying behaviour, while insulation minimises downwards heat loss. Power consumption is only about 50 watts, compared with a typical use in a farrowing pen creep area of 120 watts, it says.

The panels interlock with all slatted and solid panels in the MIK range, and cost £39.80 each (01432-860518).
